Mission Statement
Theᅠ missionᅠ of the Foothill Volunteer Fire Department is to provide professional emergency medical, fire protection, and rescue services.ᅠ We strive to improve our communities through volunteerism, education, and public service, making our Foothill area a better place to live.
Foothill Fire Protection District sits in the Yuba county foothills 30 miles north-east of Marysville. Our district consists of 112 square miles and serves the communities of Brownsville, Challenge, Rackerby, Strawberry Valley as well as Automatic and mutual aid agreements with Forbestown, Clipper Mills, La Porte, Bangor, Dobbins and Oregon House. We complete approximately 1,000 hours of training and respond to 365 calls annually. Foothill Volunteer Fire Department is a completely volunteer department led by Chief Bill Shaw. We meet for training on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month at 7PM at Foothill Station 1.
